Parker Barnick's Eagle Project

Fort Abraham Lincoln Mile Markers and Horseshoe Pits

I first decided that I wanted to do my project at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park because I had always enjoyed camping at the park. I went down to the park to talk to the Head Ranger about Projects I could do at the park. When talking to the ranger he asked if I had any ideas of good projects for the park. This was when we started looking for a heavily used trail that did not have mile markers. We also looked at how the park's mile markers could use updating as well as a new location. At this point I had decided to make Mile Markers and Horseshoe pits for the park. Both projects had a positive impact on the park because right after I had made them, people had already started using them. The Horseshoe pits I made ended up being an addition to the Horseshoe pits the park already had but in a different location. This gives more people the opportunity to play at the exact same time.
